Not the most famous of games, but arcade Circus Charlie is probably my favourite game of all time, and i have been gaming since the very first 'pongs' came out in the 70's!

I don't know why, but i just love it, i play it every single time i load mame up, and have done for years, even when i had rows of dedicated arcade machines at home, including far more 'classic' and well known ones such as Star Wars, Defender, Joust, GORF etc, I would still play CC on my mame cab more than the rest put together.

It has the perfect blend of skill and chance that i love, and is as enjoyable the first game as the last, i have never got bored of it. The character graphics are great, and the 'oh no' whenever i mess up still makes me smile.

Just thought i would get the confession out of my system in case there is anyone else out there who feels the same way as i do about a game that probably few 'mainstream' gamers will have ever heard of....

You are not alone. I first found out about circus charlie by playing the 110-games-in-1 nes cartridge. I was shocked when I played Konami arcade classics on DS to know there was a proper arcade version for it.

To be quite honest, Circus Charlie and Road Fighter are among the arcade titles I could play the longest without ever getting bored :)

Road Fighter! Another very underrated game, very good taste you have there!

i actually happen to have 2 Circus Charlie prints for my arcademachines (i have 2 upright cabinets and a upright racecabinet ) but both prints have gfx errors :-( lucky for me i have 60-70 other games to choose from.

love to play that game though....but Psychic5 is my alltime favourite. And Mag Max, and Gyruss and,and and.....
