@ruckage first of all thanks for all your efforts in creating the most amazing Retro Theme up to day.
I have a question, but is more related to emulation station, you know, you can edit the sorting order of the systems in es_systems.cfg, but once you enable the favorites, all games and last played they cannot be configured in es_systems.cfg, they appear at the very last in the carrousel, is there a way to sort them after an specific order? the order they appear practically ruins my intended system sorting

Do you have a time scale for finishing up the Amiga and MSX themes you posted progress on a short while ago?

@ruckage Any chance for a boot up splash screen that matches this style?

Hi, there is any chance some one could draw a NEC turbograx 16 CD icon as a placeholder while @ruckage finish it?, is the only one left from my collection. Thanks and kind regards.

Sorry but can't say when they'll be ready, I have started them though.

I tried to update my Emulation Station to the newest version and bricked my Pi and required a wipe and restart...
When I install though it has white screen with titles and nothing else.
Do I need to do this without Emulation Station running?

Firstly, I'm sure you haven't bricked your pi - this implies that you've rendered the pi permanently useless which is highly unlikely - at most you would just have to re-flash retropie to the SD card.

Secondly, this isn't really an issue related to my theme but I'm prepared to help. You do need to do your part though and provide more information as you haven't really given me anything to go on.

                              Useful information would be:

                              Pi Model (1, 2, 3, or zero)
                              Power supply used (give details)
RetroPie version used (did you use the image provided on the retropie site?)
The exact steps you took in order to update EmulationStation
                              Were any errors displayed?
What exactly happened when it failed.
Did you actually leave it long enough in order to build from source (this takes time)?
Did you restart the system after the update was complete.

Yes, I used the image provided on the site RetroPie 4.2
Then updated the RetroPie setup script which brought me to 4.2.18
The exact steps you took in order to update EmulationStation.
Initially I tried to update it through Emulation Station by going into the RetroPie setup and then managing packages in Core packages. I am sure that this is likely my problem. I am very new to Linux and I have never done a day of programming prior to this. Setting up my BIOS was difficult...trying to learn something new has been a slow curve for this ol' dog.
                                Were any errors displayed?
                                No
What exactly happened when it failed.
After 3 days of waiting for it to rebuild, not sure what happened but it shut off at around package #75. I do not remember which package that it is however.
This happened twice at the same spot.
Did you actually leave it long enough in order to build from source (this takes time)?
I think so. Three days seemed far generous, is it possible that it could take longer?
Did you restart the system after the update was complete.
Well, yes...the system was no longer on. Once it was re powered, I did restart the system correctly.

Thank you @ruckage for your time. Also thank you for your love for this theme. I am always surprised by the amazing theme ideas people come up with; but this was a master's stroke of brilliance.

                                In your debt, Hankola.

No, it shouldn't take that long. On a pi 3 I've never really timed it but i'm sure it's under an hour to build from source.

Updating through retropie setup is fine and should work perfectly.

Just to be sure these are the steps you should be taking:

                                  Retropie Setup
                                  Manage Packages
                                  Manage Core Package
                                  EmulationStation
                                  Update From Source

If it still doesn't work I would try and rule out things such as the power supply or SD card being the problem. I've not heard of that power supply but I know a lot of third party supplies aren't up to the job. Buy an official raspberry pi power supply as they are reliable and aren't expensive. Also try a different SD card just in case, make sure it's a good brand - I use sandisk ultra as they are fast and don't cost much.

Is the pi in a case? If so it may be worth to try removing it from the case to rule out overheating being an issue - building from source is cpu intensive so will generate a lot of heat on a pi 3.

Have you fitted a heatsink? If so are you sure that it used thermal tape and not just regular tape as that would cause even higher temperatures.

@ruckage @Hankola it appears that you are stalling out during updating from source. This is a known issue now that a lot more features have been added to Emulationstation. For most users there isn't really a reason to need to update from source. The retropie team has been doing a great job of updating the binary very quickly. You should be able to update emulationstation from binary and get everything you need.

If you have to update from source you must exit emulationstation and update from the command line. Even then you may stall during the update process. Please try to update from binary and see if that works.

Edit- this works and no set up required! The themes both look amazing! Only one black spot for me! Live-able!!!
