@vikingrock Fortunately there isn't much to configure besides getting the files themselves in the right folders which it sounds like you did.

You are aware that the actual arcade game uses a strange membrane keyboard to play. . . And I think I may have found the answer.

According to the daphne emu web page it has the keys setup for thayer's quest as follows:
Thayer's Quest is different from other arcade games in that it used a keyboard instead of a usual joystick and buttons.
Thayer's Quest keys cannot be changed as of the time of this writing.
      The keys are as follows:
      F1 Choice #1 (triangle) / Clear
      F2 Choice #2 (circle)
F3 Choice #3 (square) / Enter (NOTE : the regular Enter key on the keyboard does nothing)
F4 Choice #4 (pentagon) / Space (NOTE : the regular spacebar on the keyboard does nothing)
      F5 Insert Coin
      F6 Insert Coin
      1 Yes
      2 Items
      3 Drop Item
      4 Give Score
      5 Replay
      6 Combine Action
7 Save Game (NOTE : saving games is not supported at the time of this writing)
      8 Update
      9 Hint
      0 No
The rest of the keyboard is the same as it is on a Thayer's Quest keyboard, which is shown below:
      http://www.daphne-emu.com/graphics/tq_keyboard.jpg

Here's another one that looks nicer:

I have Daphne working with all games, including Dragons Lair and Space Ace, in Pc Keyboard there are all Daphne keys preconfigured, and I have tried to play Thayer's Quest with Pc keyboard to find a way to discover the especific imput controls to this game, but including on keyboard, there's no command to put coins in Thayer's Quest.

I can only get the following games to work

          Astron Belt
          Dragons Lair
          Dragons Lair II
          Esh's Aurunmilla
          GP World
          Interstellar
          MACH 3 (no sound)
          Space Ace
          Super Don Quiote
          Us vs Them

What other games do you have working? I checked here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hy2VpPXgs4a9imeu0_w3SpehKEkhUNOLzD1jhcgwS3o/htmlview#gid=0 there's a few more games that claim to be working but I'm having no luck.

How do you get Cliff hanger to download files via daphne PC, I keep getting an error saying can't download video/audio files, cliffhanger has been removed until a complete version can be presented?

              Any ideas?

Thanks for the heads up on cliffhanger, do you happen to know the file size of the cliffhanger video files/folder? I don't really want to download a 64gb img just for a few files, will try and google CH if I know the file sizes

                  Thanks for you help friend

Thanks for the help, I now have 2 versions of cliffhanger (original & restored) I must say that the restored is so much better in video quality than the original, the restored version I found contained 3 versions of the video files

I've tried before a few months ago, I think Road Blasters gets some sort of fault in Daphne and doesn't work. Check the compatibility lists to be sure but I get the following:

Framefile parse succeeded. Video/Audio directory is: /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/daphne/roadblaster.daphne/./

If you want to play Road Blaster at any cost, you can always try the Mega CD version "Road Avenger" it is the same game in 64 colours with most of the content intact.
