Are the Mupen64 video plugens on retropie behind the desktop versions?
-
So I see that the desktop version of some of the video plugins to Mupen64 can run pokemon snap. How long till we'll see parity with the desktop version in terms of fixing bugs?
From the looks of things the issue is primarily with floating point checks and depth buffer issues. In the case of pokemon snap, pokemon and other terrain render over what they should be behind. This is likely an error in calculation or a really shallow depth buffer. Not sure what the cause would be for the blank snap shots. May be premature release of texture buffer or depth buffer not cleared.
On a side note: I noticed things slow down when that yellow bolt shows up in the upper corner. What is it and can I disable it?

Just do a source based update of mupen64plus. If mupen64plus still does not run pokemon snap it is a driver or performance problem.

insufficient power so it's downclocking. you should buy a better power supply.

So I've overcloacked my r-pie. Are you guys not running retro pie on a raspberry pie? As for power, it's coming off a Samsung wall charger. Do the r-pies need more than that?
@gizmo98
Can you link me the binaries to an updated version, I'd rather not jump through hoops to compile and build for r-pie, there's always some library issue that I don't have time to dig through. -
There should be no library issue unless you do not use an official image or your RetroPie-Setup script is not up to date.
You can also do a binary update. I don't know how old this binary is but it should be newer.
