      I am running retro pie 4.2.18 and have installed from the experimental emulators the TI-994 sim. It shows as installed. I have put game roms that are properly named in the rom folder. However the BIOS is a bit confusing. I have read 1 bios file or 4 files (which is it?) and read that they go in the ROM folder not BIOS (where do they go?) I am not getting TI-99 to show up in emulation station, what can I check?

        Bios file, "TI-994A.ctg", according to the wiki need to go in this path /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/ti99

        Here is the wiki page for the emulator:

          That is what I currently have, but I believe the WIKI may have not been updated since 3.8.

          Anyone have this working ?

            @everett1954 can't vouch for the pdf content as I didn't write it, but the info on the chart is correct. The bios is case sensitive.

              @herb_fargus Sorry about using the GitHub wiki link. I'll remember to point to the site link instead.

                  Still no luck. I made sure the BIOS file is correctly named TI-994A.ctg and in the BIOS folder. it is 32.7KB on my MAC. Working rom files ending in .ctg in the ROM folder. ETC/emulationstation /es_systems.cfg has the proper lines for the TI. I have rebooted and restarted many times. update TI99SIM file from source. Nothing I do makes the emulator show up in Emulation Station.

                  Anything to try next?

                      @everett1954

                      You mention you verified the es_systems.cfg file is good (the file located in /etc/xxx)....I'm curious then if you have another copy of the es_systems.cfg file in this directory...

                      /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation

                      If so, this file takes precedence over the one in /etc. If you do have this secondary file, does it have the TI99 system in it?

                        Thanks dmmarti, you nailed the problem right on the head and everything is working great now. Do you know:

                        Why are there multiple es_systems.ctg?

                        Why does OPT take preference over the one in ETC?

                        Thanks,
                        Everett
