What games are you playing this week? 2017-08-28
-
Started The OG Legend of Zelda. No clue wtf I'm doing.
-
@hooperre try it in English. Much easier.
-
@obsidianspider It's dangerous to go alone! Take this.
-
@hooperre hardcore people have managed to "beat" the game without a sword. Since you can't beat Ganon without a sword, getting to Gabon swordless is considered beating the game in that case.
-
I've been playing The Lost Vikings (SNES) and got stuck at the first Egypt-like level...
I'm planning to go through a Mega Man (NES) marathon, I already finished 1 and 2 a few months ago, then I'll start with the 3 now. And, obviously, get some cheevos. :-)
-
I am knee deep in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. For the third time!
-

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Looks like a great game, similar to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA).
Does "Harmony of Dissonance" have the same character as "Aria of Sorrow"? I think he is named Soma Cruz.
-
Still on Terranigma (SNES)
with my new build (Rpi0) I play the classic GB I owned as kid
- Darkwing Duck
- Tiny Toons
- MegaMan
and the "classics" of the Genesis/Megadrive (even if I never owned that console)
- Tale Spin
- NBA JAM (lots of fun in 2 player mode)
- Revenge of Shinobi
-
Tony hawk pro skater 2, future cop LAPD, and if I can figure out a fix - final fantasy 8! It freezes the screen upon battle entry but the music plays fine. #sadface
-
Just discovered "Popful Mail" on the SegaCD (MegaCD). I think I'll be playing that for a while. Great platformer with RPG elements, decent music, good voice acting and actually very funny. Highly recommended.
-
@cyperghost The Revenge of Shinobi is great. Nice choice. Don't forget about Shinobi III: Return of The Ninja Master also on MD / Genesis or Shadow Dancer on MAME, a personal favourite of mine. I'm a Shinobi fan...

Shadow Dancer on MAME
Shadow Dancer is my favorite Mega Drive game! I was trying to beat it in level 3 but those ninjas at Statue of Liberty elevator are f$#@%ing hard! Maybe I'll give another try in level 2 soon...
-
@meleu The MD version is totally different from the arcade version. You still have a dog and wear white. It's still a Shinobi game, just not a port of the arcade. I still enjoy both but prefer the arcade version.

You still have a dog
The only difference that matters
-
Yeah!! Finally managed to pass through the Snake Man stage with no damage!!
-
I'm spending this week finishing a few games on my backlog before school starts next week. Played through the original Super Mario Bros. (NES), I beat the SNES version but never beat the original, despite owning it. Am currently playing through StarTropics (NES)
-
I think this video sums up why retro games will always be more fun in my eye
-
@meleu battletoads is my favorite game on mega drive! ;)
-
Playing M.U.L.E. (Atari 800). The Pirates keep coming and there was a fire in the store. High score is around 33,000 with a Leggite.
Was going to try to finish Koronis Rift, but keep getting sidetracked by the Oculus Rift.
Keeping a good thought for Texas.
-
@meleu No, It's actualy a Belmont in this one, Richter Belmont to be exact. It's not the best game in the series but it is a good one. It's tries to emulate many elements from "Symphony" on the PS1, which is not a bad thing!
