    Hi all !!

I have just configured RetroPie to launch my roms from the external hard drive. Everything works fine.

But the savestates are very long.
For exemple : It takes 3 minutes for a SNES savestate :(

I have a Thosiba 1TB hard drive USB 3 in NTFS.
    My Raspberry Pi 3 have a 5V / 3A power supply.

I would like the savestate to stay in the same folder as the roms ...
    On the external hard drive.

    Where is the problem?

Thanx for your help guys !

    TitQuentin

      @TitQuentin
If you start a SNES game and after a few seconds you create a savegame state ... how long took this? How long do you need for loading this?

May it be possible that your HDD goes to sleep after a few minutes?

Thank you for your reply cyperghost !
When I launch any game (SNES, NES, PSX ....) and I make a savestate immediately, it takes 2-3 mintutes.

        Loadstates work perfectly.

Maybe the problem comes from an under-power of the external hard drive?
I ordered a USB 3.0 Y cable to get a little more power on my external hard drive.
        I will try and see

@titquentin I really have no clue, but there are several other users with same report.
How did you mount the HDD into the system? Did you use any of this methods? I don't think it's a power issue ...

The other topic with same issue is here

I mount my HDD with "automatic mount".
I have no roms in SD card. All my roms are in my HDD.

I fixed my problem with the Y cable. The savestate are more faster, but it long.... So I have mounted my external hard drive manually by editing the fstab. All works but with Y cable only.
