Did the new libretro-atari800 core from https://github.com/r-type/libretro-atari800 make the cut?

Is there any way to test it for the XU line?

@fnkngrv by installing manually over Ubuntu minimal on odroid. The existing docs should still be fine.

ok, thanks. pardon my ignorance, but you are talking about testing here so how is it distinguished for doing an install on Ubuntu? I assumed that what you shared on your google drive images for the Pi would have it incorporated, but if testing and doing a fresh install from bash on the XU4 would still be pointing to the current 4.2.20?

@BuZz probably won't have a Stretch release ready for a while because of all the changes that were made in Raspbian Stretch and changes that need to be made to adapt to it.

Stretch will be 5.0, won't it?

I found an issue that you may want to consider evaluating for the 4.3 release: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/2125

Without this change, the automatic invocation of choose_emulator seems very unstable with joy2key. The mapping sometimes works, but often stops during selection, leaving me stuck inside the menu. I noticed this before but only got around to isolating it now.

This change appears to fix the issue 100% (I'm testing repeatedly & can't trigger the issue). It won't break or disable the cancel button for the manual system/rom emulator selection when invoked from runcommand's menu.

Edit: the xmb minimal assets also didn't get updated in this image. This is not a big deal but just reminding in case you wanted it included.

Hi friends, could you before the feature freeze or final version add the function to add a star to favorite ROMs?

@psyke83 please open a ticket for both of these. Not had that input issue though. Will review patch later as not on pc. Cheers.

@buzz The xmb issue is already filed: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/2121

The PR for the runcommand issue explains how to reproduce the issue in the second comment: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/2125

@sergioad he's already made it clear this is to test the stable build for release. Not to add new features.

Just wondering, when this launches, can I just go update in the retropie menu and not have to flash the system?

@systemlogoffsa Since this upcoming release will still use raspian jessie, you can update. In the past, it was recommended to start fresh when going from wheezy to jessie, but not sure how it'll be when retropie moves to stretch.
