"Golden age" console hit parade?

@andershp Amiga is quite easy actually. It works a little bit differently than other emulators, but that's all. It's a great system for Cannon Fodder and Lemmings (amongst others).
-
@svmariscal in my part of the world (Brazil) this is what was mainstream from 8 and 16 bits ages:
- Atari 2600
- Master System
- NES
- GameBoy
- Game Gear
- Mega Drive
- SNES
- (maybe Sega CD)
I measure this based on what I saw in the old video game magazines (from the 90s).
-
@bobharris but you cannot edit inputs, can you? So for many games you need a keyboard?
-
I don't include gameboy on my pi because I got spoiled by the gbpocket shader used on the pc version of retroarch. People have tried to make an overlay that sorta looks like it, but it doesn't look anywhere near as good.
-
@andershp I never looked into it..I just play with mouse and keyboard.
-
Well, here in Europe I'd certainly have added the ZX Spectrum.
-
@pjft Then for Europe, also Vic20 and commodore64 should be added ;-)

I really don't understand why the ColecoVision is so often overlooked. It was a very powerful and capable system for its' time. And a direct inspiration for the Famicom. http://www.glitterberri.com/developer-interviews/how-the-famicom-was-born/deciding-on-the-specs/
ColecoVision needs more love.

@fruitybit there is another thread about the bbc micro and advmess. When i get home i am going to be setting it up to help him. Pay attention to that thread.

@edmaul69 you've just made my evening. Will keep eyes out for it:)
-
Still no love for the ColecoVision? You people...
-
@meleu Brazil eh? im looking for a contact in brazil to get me some TecToy titles, and potentially the new megadrive they have released.
Are you up for being friends? -
@spruce_m00se Feel free to email me. I did this for a forum fellow from England.
-
@meleu any place where I might find your email address?
-
@meleu Is it still massively expensive to import foreign electronics to Brasil? I have read and watched documentaries about the taxes that were placed on foreign imports. I'm sure that has opened up but there will always be a legacy of that policy.
I always liked that Brasil and Europe were the ones who truly appreciated the Sega Master System. North Americans were just blinded by Nintendo (in my 11year old eyes...)

I think it's not as much as it was in the 80s-90s. But it still has some taxes. Not sure how it worked before but now the taxes are applied by sampling. Then it can be a matter of luck. :-)
I bought some gadgets from other countries and it wasn't that expensive (some of them weren't taxed), such as: 8bitdo NES30, SNES30, Zero, GPD XD...
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
