Background images, coming back!!!

@andershp anyone can update it, code is available online. If they don't know how, docs are available online to learn how. I might when I find the interest and time but I don't have much time or interest as of recent. Feel free to tinker around and give it a go if you don't want to wait for someone else to do it. We all do this in our free time so things get done as people have the ambition to do them.

I myself have zero coding experience and wouldn't know where to begin or how to test it, but I guess I could start by searching this forum..

@andershp im not offended in the least, just saying things matter of factly. honestly with a lot of the recent emulationstation developments I have no idea where to begin either!
This is a good guide for building a basic theme from scratch. Really the tronkyfran theme is just the simple theme with diff wallpapers in it's current state. If we kill metadata for it it just becomes that much simpler.

I will start with making a portable ES, copying the Tronkyfran theme onto there, and then test removing the Metadata and resizing the box art there. Any pitfalls I should know of?

Sure, you can use and modify them as you want, just crédit to the author anywhere in the post you put the theme and thats it. Go!!! :D

One image is more beautiful than the other, just awesome. Sometimes i just scroll up and down my systems, just to admire this beauty.
I have a question, maybe a stupid one:
Are these photographs or did you painted/rendered them?? For example the sega mega drive. I can't belive this is rendered, but how can someonoe take such a smooth product photo?Greetings from Italy

All the images are 3d renders made by me, Im fond of some of them,mostly the latest. There is some quality gap from one to another but in general Im happy with the results, there is the issue of segacd, virtual boy, and some more missing systems but hey, there are SO many.... -
@tronkyfran I must say I really love your work. Since I was missing the psx controller, I made one in your style. I am no 3d modeler, nor do I even know how to use 3d program. I did it in AE with E3D. I hope you won't be mad :) Your comments are welcome!
I'm also working on a splash video matching the theme.

Wow, thats pretty nice!!!!! E3D is growing and allows to get nearly instant results, I would just add a bit of rough bump on the sticks and it would be perfect, great work!!!

how do i get the background setup for the favorites, seems to be the only one missing, i did try unistalling and reinstalling but no joy ? Thanks

just thought i would also say i have no background for favourite or recent also.
Also the text when you go in both the menus is blue and the background black, and you can't tell which game is highlighted (except from the picture of the game of course).
is this just me??apart from that this is by far my favourite theme.

@aardvark This is because the theme wasn't updated to support the new collections feature of Last Played, Favorites, etc.

Im trying to get some time for megacd and some more but its not clear when It will be done,sorry. I wont say this theme is closed but its progress will be slow, I should have done it when I was unemployed, sigh.
