Pi Model or other hardware: Rpi 3B
Power Supply used: 3a power brick
      RetroPie Version 4.3
      Built From RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Tronsmart wireless adapter
      Controller used: Tronsmart G01
Error messages received: EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p2): ext4_mb_generate_buddy:758: group 33, block bitmap and bg descriptor insonsistent 0 vs 32768 free clusters
How to replicate the problem: Seems to occur when adding large roms (Sega CD and PSX). After I have the system up (after the initial configuration), it'll be sitting idle, then this starts to pop up 2_1506976003231_IMG_0652.JPG 1_1506976003231_IMG_0651.JPG 0_1506976003230_IMG_0650.JPG

Also, I am using a New Sony 64GB microSDXC micro SD SDXC Class 10 card. After this message the Pi restarts and a recovery tool begins to try to "fix the drive" after a while the pi reboots. Everything seems ok for a bit, but the same problem continues.

But I have gotten the same error with serveal new 32gb Sandisk micro SD SDXC Class 10 cards. Normally I take the sd cad out format it and start from scratch. Usually with the same results.

@demesauce Since you have tried a few other cards I would suggest that the image you have is somehow corrupted. Download it again and verify the checksum before you write the image. Try etcher.io to write the image this time, that seems to work 99.+% of the time. Win32DiskImager can be a bit hit and miss sometimes.

@jonnykesh So that's just it. When I was having the problem with the 32gb SanDisk cards, I tried to download the image again, same problem I even grabbed an older version, same thing. Tried a different card reader, same again. And SanDisk cards are known for being robust and not as prone to corruption.

            But I'll give etcher.io a shot, thanks

@demesauce did you verify the checksum?

@jonnykesh No, is there a linux command to verify?

Still no luck. Used Etcher, it copied and verified. But while coping ROMS, same errors

@demesauce you probably should use something like winscp on your computer to transfer large roms.

If you can't reformat it and if it does boot up. easy way to check if the card is bad is loading up a game and save then reboot if it doesn't keep your save your card is bad.
If it's actually a bad card contact the manufacture first maybe they can send you another card if you have proof of perches.

@edmaul69 I have a Mac and use Transmit. Seems to be a pretty popular option on Macs

You might consider running a program like H2testw (Windows only IIRC, not sure what similar Linux program would be) to verify you have good SD cards.

That sounds like the type of error you might get from a fake one (2/4GB SD card formatted to look like a 32 GB card and such).

@demesauce It could be that the SD cards you're using are not compatible for RPi or Retropie. Checck yours here: https://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards
The list may not have been updated recently but you get a general idea that not all SD cards will play well.

It's unlikely a compatibility issue - It's far more likely they have bought cheap fake cards, or they are possibly faulty. There are a lot of fake cards out there - make sure you buy from reputable companies.

If it was in fact a Sony card, it should be compatible. I have to admit, bought it off eBay, probably fake, like BuZz suggested.
