What is the MAME ROW?
MAME ROW stands for MAME Random Of the Week. We randomly select an arcade game from the 0.78 MAME Reference Set to play on the week. The idea is to play games we've never played before, interact with other forum members, post hi-scores, share game strategies, fun facts, and (the most important) HAVE FUN!
Notes:
-
We usually post hi-scores screenshots after playing with only one credit. If you used more than one credit, please mention it on your post.
-
There's no need to use RetroPie to join the MAME ROW! You can play it on any platform you want.
-
Feel free to post your hi-score (or any content about the game) anytime you want on the previous rounds topics (link below).
Every Monday we create a topic at the "General Discussion and Gaming > MAME Random Of the Week" forum section with the 3 random games to be voted. And on Wednesday we check the result.
These "rules" are constantly being improved!

Voted for Last Blade 2. It's one of the better NeoGeo fighters in my opinion.
-

+1 for Funny Mouse! It features pew pew sounds!

@meleu This is really one of these games.... I like...
The gameplay is so easy but the game itself is tough and that's imho the thing that makes old games so desireable ;)It was a really cool time to go to the arcades hall and just spend some coins for a desireable gameplay - no women, no alcohol, no drugs - just a bit of gaming.
After a a bit of gameplaying it was like women+alcohol & drugs together ;) Yes Yes as we were young :DWhatever happend to to 80's? Where are they now?
Some nasty tunes?
Here we go...
-
@cyperghost you know what? When I was a kid my father forbade me to go to arcades. He believed that it was a place full of bad companies...
Well, I was just a little kid and didn't understand anything about alcohol and drugs (much less about women :) ). But I remember that the cabinets had ashtrays... And on my teenage days I remember that some good The King of Fighters players were dope dealers.
-
Looks like @obsidianspider is busy. Here is the poll result:
Let's stock some food! 🐭
-
@meleu These gaming halls were not so very common in germany. But in Italy, Spain.... there were lots of this places and of course it was really fun to spent some money :)
I think my first arcade game I can really good remember and I played very often was 1942. For gods sake my parents got a Amstrad CPC ;) Saved some money :)
Hell... a green colored monitor is better than nothing :DBut I remember that the cabinets had ashtrays...
Ah yes... but they were rather used for the coins ;)
You know... 9 seconds to throw annother coin in and press the button?And on my teenage days I remember that some good The King of Fighters players were dope dealers.
Well I think in the age of 14-16 I rapidly lost interest in computer gaming. But games I really loved and do even nowadays is "Airhockey" and "Table Football" - Reallive gaming ;)
-
Sorry all. I was busy with some home construction yesterday. Thank you to @meleu for posting the results.
-
@obsidianspider I know that only real pictures vote...
But just as teaser 21500 pts!
Who gets more?Btw: After you finished first round you can enter a slot-mashine like game and earn some extra points and Funny Mouse will change to Happy Mouse ;)
-
@cyperghost just as a counter-teaser, I've made more than that. 😎
-
@meleu Come on - Pants off! What's your score ;)
Btw: Just playing Crystalis - is a good game! -
@cyperghost OK, I was holding it because I'm away from my cabinet until next Wednesday, therefore unable to get a better score. Then if I post it now you guys will play until beat my score... But, OK, it's not a fair play...
Here it goes my best score: 30100
-
@meleu Which level? Seems to me you stuck on level 2 ;)
-
@cyperghost I got a game over very early at level 3.
-
@meleu Hmmmm 25800 pts... I'm getting better ;)
-
24900, I'm right on your (mouse) tail @cyperghost!
-
I'm getting better. 31100!
-
@gtbfilms Good score ;)
-
@gtbfilms Who's got the longest tail? ;)
I think the story is really nice for that game: Mouse bombs cats and snakes and steals food
Playguide:
In first stage I go to the ladder, then turn right to the mushroom. Place a bomb after you left to the pitfall. The first cat pops in you can walk through the cat as long as it blinks. You go down the ladder and ignite the bomb. >> Cat is deadYou now head to the food pit and place the second bomb on the ladder down to the meat and ignite it >> Snake is dead
Now head to to apple, place a bomb, grap it and run back to food pit and ignite third bomb. >> Cat is dead ;)
That was my killing orgy strategy :) - But it is a really tough game and I think I put more than 25 quarters in ;)
