      Raspberry Pi 2B
RetroPie Version 4.2.17 - installed ontop of Raspbian - On top of Berryboot
I use an external USB and have custom es_systems.cfg files

When I launch Scummvm it says

      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc/+Start ScummVM.sh: Permission denied*

When I try to launch DOSBox it goes to the runcommand screen and then goes back to emulationstation.

@sammyboy said in Scummvm - Permission Denied and DOSBox not launching:

        /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc/+Start ScummVM.sh

I believe this is the correct way. Go to commandline and type:

        sudo chmod +x -R /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc/+Start/ScummVM.sh

Caps and lowercase are important. Or in a program like winscp right click on the file “+Start ScummVM.sh” and change permissions to 0777

@edmaul69 scummvm and DOSBox aren't working anymore today I don't know why but the only thing I did yesterday was play around with the es_systems.cfg to get a runcommand splash to work with dosbox but now scummvm is saying again permission denied.

Its fine now because I found out I had the wrong es_systems.cfg command for both of them

@sammyboy you shouldnt use runcommand for dosbox. Dosbox has its own video settings in the dosbox config file. Also follow the retropie dosbox wiki to learn how to create seperate .sh files for each game.
