PSX: Some merged pbp files don't recognize my joypad

hi guys,
as the title suggest, i got this problem...
the majority of image files i merge (or just convert) into PBP format works fine, but some really don't: they boot correctly but the joypad is like its disconnected, no button works... but i still can press select+start to go back to ES.
what am i doing wrong?!? -
@tobal it probably games that cant use “analog ps1 controllers”. When you go into a game press your hotkey + x to get into the retroarch gui. Then go into quick menu, then options and change your controls from analog to standard or vice versa.

weird stuff: i tried running once again FF7 and it works now, without changing anything...
i'll try with the other PBPs i deleted now, really dunno why it didnt work before
