Disabling rumble feature with xbox 360 controllers
-
I just got a few xbox 360 controllers and quite like them for retropie with the exception that the rumble feature seems haphazard at best. Is there a way to globally shut it off? I've searched around and found a fat lot of nothing.
This is driving me nuts.

@matamualomia what systems are you having an issue in?

Thanks for the reply. Mostly in N64 and Playstation so far, but honestly haven't had extended play in Genesis or NES with the new controllers.

@matamualomia for playstation when you are in a game go into the retroarch gui (select + x. Not xbox x but what you assigned to x which should have been y if you set up your controller properly) In the rgui go into "quick menu", " options" and in there you can disable it for playstation. No need to save settings. Those options settings save automatically. Now for n64 you might have to go into its config file and manually disable the rumble. I dont know of any other systems that use rumble

I have experienced this when playing N64 games with an XBox360 controller in Mupen64Plus. I think there is something weird in the controller mapping. I haven't looked into it, but when either analog stick is pressed (L3 or R3) the controller vibrates.

I'm pretty sure I've got this sorted out now. It's set up pretty close to how the N64 layout was. I changed the rumblepak switch to requiring a hotkey to be activated. Current setup is below.
DPad R = "button(13)"
DPad L = "button(14)"
DPad D = "button(16)"
DPad U = "button(15)"
Start = "button(9)"
Z Trig = "button(6)"
B Button = "button(1)"
A Button = "button(0)"
C Button R = "axis(2+)"
C Button L = "axis(2-)"
C Button D = "axis(3+)"
C Button U = "axis(3-)"
R Trig = "button(5)"
L Trig = "button(4)"
Mempak switch = "button(11)"
Rumblepak switch = "“J0B8/B12”"Analog axis configuration mappings
X Axis = "axis(0-,0+)"
Y Axis = "axis(1-,1+)"
Joy Mapping Stop = "J0B8/B9"
