@fluffypillow That and a little theme making tutorial would be my perfect Christmas gift😉😉

@tronkyfran In light of your ES theme, I cannot wait to see your Pegasus theme. So add that to my christmas-list also!

          Aand here's the weekly changelog:

          • a bunch of very minor optimizations and internal changes (probably unnoticeable)
          • player count ranges (eg. 1-4) in ES2's <player> tag are now properly supported (just noticed this wasn't working)
          • experimenting with Steam support: while I can list the installed games, the descriptions and assets would need to be fetched from the web, which will need some further work
          • experimenting with a new loading screen: it will show the number of games loaded so far; I plan to close the logo thread this month, and this loading screen will be added after that

Try having Pegasus search for the 'app manifest' files in the Steam Directory. They list the Game name and ID which is used by steam to list info.

@lilbud Yes, that's the part that works, what's missing is getting additional metadata and assets. They seem to have a nice web interface though, so hopefully it won't be too difficult.

Are the RPi able to play any Steam games?

@AndersHP no, though I've heard you can set it up for streaming/remote play.

                      • this will be available tomorrow, due to the build server people are having some problems at the moment

Been waiting for a customisable frontend like this, the steam support looks great. Is it possible to add .exe windows games that are not in steam?

I don't know anything about ES or Retropie, so having trouble finding any games or connect to my steam account.

Is there any way of adding favorites as of now, maybe by manually editing the gamelist.xml?

@halfmanhalfcake not yet, sorry (well, unless you want to hack ES2's config files), but as soon as Pegasus gets its own config files, custom Windows games could be supported.

@AndersHP yes, you can toggle it in ES or manually set the <favorite>true</favorite> tag for the game in the XML.

I might give that a go, but look forward to using pegasus without ES.

Sorry for my lack of understanding, can I create a theme for the installed windows version? or will I have to compile and build?

@halfmanhalfcake you won't have to compile anything for theming; just create the theme put it in the theme directory and Pegasus should pick it up.Unfortunately there's no documentation yet, but you can find a brief guide in the wiki, and following the commits of the Flixnet theme might help. Themes on Windows should be placed under C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\pegasus-frontend\themes\.

@fluffypillow great, I don't have a themes folder there at the moment, I assume that's because I haven't loaded any games? (i.e. installed ES or set up a xml file?)

I'm going to give creating a theme a go, possibly the XBOX ONE Grid look and see how that works out.

@halfmanhalfcake the directory is not created automatically yet, will fix that :)
@jayceelectro yes the Flixnet theme was designed to work well with images from ConsoleGrid/etc. It'd be nice if someone would write a scraper for these sites...

No changes this week due to lack of time, however I've started working on making the theming interface more stable, so I might even start writing the guide for it finally.
Oh and I've also updated the Flixnet theme to work with the latest alpha.

Hey fluffy, hoping you can help me, i've set up ES and got a gamelist.xml all set up, and added images in the xml, which show up in ES but not in pegasus.

I've also tried adding images in the <romspath>/media folder in the format you mentioned earlier in this thread.

                                          my log shows:
qrc:/themes/pegasus-grid/BackgroundImage.qml:24:5: QML Image: Cannot open: file://C/Frontend/Games/media/Super_Mario_Kart.jpg

Any ideas on where I'm going wrong?

@halfmanhalfcake Do the games themselves show up in Pegasus? I assume there is a Super_Mario_Kart.something in C:/Frontend/Games/ right? Does this happen with only that or with all platforms/all games? If you add your gamelist.xml and log to a new issue (eg. using pastebin) or here, I can check them tomorrow.
