HELP - EmulationStation black after OpenGL install/uninstall
-
So, I was trying to get better vector graphics, and I thought "Let's install the experimental OpenGL". It didn't work, the system wouldn't boot into Emulationstation and went into command line mode instead. So, I ssh'd in and disabled the experimental OpenGL. Now on bootup the system shows the EmulationStation splash screen, then I get a black screen with just white words for the emulationstation menus on the bottom. Unusable. It's like the color/graphics display is bjorked. Any suggestions? Or do I just reinstall a clean RetroPie?
UPDATE: Seems somewhat similar to this: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/1392

@herb_fargus Apologies for flagging you on this, herb_fargus, but it seems like you might have some insight? Should I reinstall or is there a way of restoring the full graphics mode on Emulation Station?

I'm sorry that i'm just randomly interjecting here, but you should try to do a basic install on the setup script. It just reinstalls the applications that comes with a fresh image and doesn't mess with anything else.

@pokeengineer Random interjections welcome. I in fact started that an hour ago, I'll let you know how it works! :)

@pokeengineer And sure enough, doing the complete reinstall through the setup script fixed it. Serves me right for installing experimental software.... :D
