      I bought a nespi case, a raspberry pi 3 (model b), and a SanDisk Ultra 128GB micro SDXC card (which I formatted to FAT32). I've installed retro pi for the pi 3 on to my mini SD card, using Etcher.

      Retro PI boots up, but I don't see any emulators.

      I go to update the Retro Pi and it fails.... I've discovered I'm not connected to the wi-fi.

      Will the emulators not show up until the update is complete?

      I have AT&T Uverse, running wifi on a PACE 5268 modem/router. I've read through the STICKY section, but cannot connect to the wifi, even after typing the password multiple times through retro pie wifi setup.

      Am I missing somthing? Do I need to put NOOBS on SD card first, and then setup Retro Pie? Fresh out of the box I'm putting Retro Pie on my SD card, and no former operating system.

      Any and All help is appreciated, as I've been working on this project for 2 days. Youtube makes it look easy, but apparently I'm screwing something up. Thanks!!

        Add games.
        The way retropie works is that it doesn’t show the emulators up front. When you add roms, it will show the list of games in the appropriate system. When you select a game, retropie will launch the appropriate emulator.

          In order for the systems to show up, you need a ROM/game copied in the corresponding folder - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/#emulationstation. Read the getting started part of the docs for your first steps.

            Thanks guys for the fast response! Do I need to be concerned that I can't get retro pi connected to wifi? Don't I need to make sure it's up to date, prior to putting the emulators and roms on the system? Thanks again

              @mattp1803 Wifi access does not interfere with playing - unless you want to connect to the retroachievements.org site - , and the RetroPie already includes the most used emulators.
              However, no access means you cannot transfer the ROMs over the network, so that's a bummer. Make sure your Wifi AP has the 2.4 Ghz SSID available, then follow the instructions at https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Wifi/ to get connected. You'll need a keyboard or a way to copy a file to the SD card and import your Wifi password from that file.

              EDIT: Does your router has MAC filtering enabled ? That might explain why the connection does not work.

                @mitu

                Thank you all for the help!!

                ROM's are on my system, and it works perfect!

                Next, I'll just need to hook the raspberry pie up via Ethernet cable to make sure it's updated.
