I have wasted an entire week trying to setup my wired Xbox 360 controller on my Raspberry Pi first generation V1.0B1.1 . I'm using a Wasabi Power AC 5v 2.1A power supply.
I have tried the 3 last RetroPie versions, xpad and xboxdrv drivers... nothing: when emulatorstation loads up, it says one gamepad detected by the Xbox Controller LEDs goes crazy and nothing happens. Then, I have to press F4 on my keyboard several times until ES quits to command line.
So I have read several links with tons of command lines and nothing happens! Do you guys have a RetroPie version with a more Windows-User-Friendly plug & play drivers???? I'm about to quit RetroPie and shop for SNES Classics over eBay.
Pity, wanna use my old Raspberry for something cool.

@jocaedu Are you sure your controller/usb cable are OK ? 1 gamepad detected implies the keyboard is detected, but not the controller.
As for the image, I don't think there is such a thing as Windows User-Friendly drivers on the Linux, but over USB the controller should be detected ok. Please give more details about your setup - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - especially about your controller model and version.
