i tested dk1/2/3 on both the core's and they work without laggy/crackling sounds ...
Maybe your roms r not ok , or the build you r running is somehow laggy .. -

dk = Donkey Kong or Donkey Kong Country? Just to be sure that you and alucard_xs speak about the same series.

It may be the case that you have a lousy power supply and your Pi is underpowered. Or bad configuration. SNES emulation should run flawlessly. Even Neo Geo and PS1 are perfect.

@fabio78 We'll never know unless he posts the info requested in the link posted 6 hours ago. Or everyone could just keep guessing.
If people aren't willing to take the time to provide the needed info about their set-ups I don't know why people even bother trying to help them out. -
@fabio78 That's right..I've got many N64 games running great, as well as CPS-3 and this guy thinks the Pi 3 can't handle Snes lol
To be fair though, the snes is one of the more demanding systems out there. My PSP could play many Snes roms great, but it had lots of trouble with the games that had enhancement chips. Also my Pi 3 gets a lot hotter during SMW 2: Yoshi's island than any PS1 game.

@jonnykesh I won't be so harsh with people new to the forum (you're not that long here yourself). Mere six hours say nothing about one's willingness to give more information. Not everyone is online 24/7 and alucard_xs' profile shows that he/she wasn't online since the opening post. I suggest checking that before you judge others.

I know these things don't really matter (yay, internet points!) but I have a reputation score that is 13 times yours even though you have been here half as long as me. It's because I help people. In order to help people they need to provide the requested information. These are the rules of the forum.

@jonnykesh Again, you're judging without looking closely. Since you brought it to the table, I'll elaborate on this. At this moment, you have 15.84 times the number of my posts, but only 13.67 times my reputation. On average, I got one reputation every 4th post, you only close to every 5th. You see, reputation scores don't say much if you don't put them into relation of the number of posts, and there, I did slightly better on average so far. :)
But all those flawed reputation systems aside, it still doesn't justify to be unfriendly to new people and it doesn't change the fact that you did it after only six hours offline time of the other person.
Being helpful at times doesn't countervail being unfair and unkind at others.

Maybe you're right when you say I've got a bad powersupply (I've got the yellow Lightning very often on the upper right corner of my screen ...)Pi 3 Inside ;-)
UP : I try with simple configuration, aka "untrue" in retropie config, and I've got merely 26 fps on Donkey Kong Country 2 ... any idea ? I've got a ipad screen and games launch in full screen (at max resolution 1024*XXX), maybe slowdowns come from here ?)

@alucard_xs so if you’re getting the yellow lightning bolt, that 100% is the cause of emulation to stutter and sound to crackle. I had the same problem
when I was none the wiser and used a micro USB cable and phone plug adaptor to power my Pi. Buy a 5v 3amp power supply and watch your Pi sing! :) -

Get an 'official' PI power supply (5.1v 2.5A). About £8 in UK. Not the cheapest but guaranteed to work. I use one and have no issues at all with power even with a USB powered hard drive and USB powered hub and overclocking the PI3 to its limits but I also have a a big CPU heatsink and powered mini fan above it. My temps average about 45c even stress testing it
The 'bargain' generic 5v 2.5a power supplies have been proven to drop voltage down to 3.5v or even less when under load and end up just being a useless paper weight, ideal for charging phones but not so great when you NEED a stable voltage at all times regardless of load
If you can get one, a 5.2v 3A is even better as that will take into account any voltage drop when plugging in external devices such as USB powered hard drives or controllers and still provide the needed stable voltage and current the RPI3 draws. Plus the PI3 USB ports are designed to supply a much higher current than previous PI models (upto 1.2A I think) so putting even more strain on the dubious bargain power supplies

I've RPi2 and get the same problem with DKC3+SNES9X2010. Changed to SNES9X2005 and the problem was half solved, just some slowdowns when much things appears on screen. I use a generic power supply, but this one works best than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 power supply, that has more power and "A", but for some unexpected reason, don't deliver the right amount of juice to RPi...

@danielmewhouse Phone chargers are usually not really reliable for the pi. After trying a cheapo chinese pi ac adapter and a few chargers from my ipad and samsung phones, they all gave me the lightning bolt icon at some point on my pi2. I bought the official pi 5.1v 2.5a ac adapter and have had no issues since.

@darksavior Well, It's an all new retropie emulation now, I tried (waiting to received a good power supply) with my Google home mini power supply, and all roms now work flawlessly !!
