      I need some directions on how to do that. I opened retropie setup and cannot find inside experimental packages lr-mame2016 I need to install it for trying run a game that runs slow at lr-mame2010.

      this is a raspberry pi 3

      if you could just send me how to download it, compile and install would be useful, I gave up trying to find any useful information for non hack people. I'm not a linux expert, I work on a windows environment that's why I'm finding such task so hard. Inside the oficial github there are not userful information to be found so I made my home work. I can assure that I made all my possible research first before post here!
      thank you

        Which game? Keep in mind that if a game runs slow in lr-mame2010 then 2016 will run the same or slower. I believe you can only build upto mame2014 at the moment until retropie is upgraded to raspbian stretch. Stick with fbalpha or mame2003. If the game requires mame2016 then consider a minipc or something.

          Hi Dark
          the game is Project Justice, it runs almost good on lr-mame2010 I wish to test it on 2016. I run it perfectly on mame0.146b on windows before trying that.
          thank you

            @hydraworks Not gonna happen on the slow pi3. You'll have to settle with the dreamcast version. That runs ok with few graphical bugs.

                ok, but could you provide me some guidance on how to download a source for any experimental emulator, compile it and install? It could allow me doing some tests by myself.
                thank you for assistance

                  @hydraworks Here's a link for how to compile Mame on a RPI - https://choccyhobnob.com/raspberry-pi/compiling-mame-on-raspberry-pi/.
                  Note that the author uses Raspbian Stretch, which is not supported yet by RetroPie. If you're attempting the steps above, make sure you install gcc version 6, since it's not available by default in Raspbian Jessie (the system on which RetroPie is built).

                    hi, I maded using experimental package. As you said no success yet on running this game. It runs very good on a mame 0.141b Win 10 but cannot load that good on my raspberry pi mame 2010 2014 2016 yet.
                    thank you for assistance I'll stick with dreamcast version.

                      @mitu Coincidentally, I tried stretch with his mame build last week and it ran like dogcrap. I tried a neogeo game and ran at 30% speed.
