      Did you try expanding via the raspi-configmenu?

            @jonnykesh It still won't let me access the config. The screen is just blue and says " Could not expand filesytem, please try raspi-config or rc_gui.
            Boot and root partitions are on different devices"

                @jonnykesh Your asking for what type of raspberry pie I'm using? I'm using Pi 3 model B

                        @pesto Do you intend to run RetroPie on the PI ? Then follow the steps in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/ (there's a handy video included) and you should be good to go. You don't need to expand the filesystem in order to install RetroPie.
