Whenever I use start and select or pressing M on a keyboard (in a game) it won't let me quit. Also, my L, R, Start, and Select button are not doing the correct things.

@namin Did you map the controller buttons correctly in the Emulationstation input configuration ? It should map correctly the SNES controller as described in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#retroarch-controls

@mitu I did set it up correctly at first, and it was working fine, but then I went into retroarch, trying to configure something for the n64, and the next morning it stopped working.

@namin Aha, funny you didn't mention the retroach stuff, which is most likely the culprit.
Reset your retroarch config - copy the /opt/retropie/config/all/retroarch.cfg.dist over the /opt/retropie/config/all/retroarch.cfg and try again.

@mitu Can you give a more detailed way or even a link to a video to watch, since I can't access winSCP for some reason(also the file was locked on normal file manager too). I've tried this solution, but I couldn't even edit the file. I'd love it if there was a bit more detailed tutorial to help. Cheers!

@namin Use sudo to start the file manager from a terminal: sudo mc, this will clear the 'locking' you see. Alternatively, try reinstalling the retroarch package from the RetroPie-setup script.

@mitu Do I type sudo after I press f4 and then press sudo Mc? (Terminal is when you press f4 right) I'm doing this on the pi itself since I have a keyboard.

@namin Just exit Emulationstation via F4, the type sudo mc and press Enter, you'll have the File manager started as administrator. Try first to re-install the retroarchpackage from the RetroPie-Setup script and see if it fixes the problem.

@namin I would recommend a full re-flash of the image. You are having issues that are not usual or normal. Start again, that should clear it up.

@jonnykesh I just can't access my files from my COMPUTER. I am trying to delete the retroarch configuration, but I can't access it from winscp or my normal files

Dude I got winSCP to work and deleted it, but it still won't work. The start and select buttons don't work and the L and R don't either. I've been trying to get this to work for the past few days. Will reflashing delete any saves I made on a game? This really seems like my last resort.!
