    MAME2003 Emulator

My Mame setup was working great until I was visited today by some younger relatives, I was watching from a distance as one was spamming the cab button to access the service menu, I could see the menu popping up and the other kid pushing buttons to remove it. I guess a setting was changed during this process as neither my assigned key or tab is working.

I looked over this forum and can see the advice is to delete default.cfg from within the roms/mame2003 folder although deleting this has not fixed the issue.

    Anything else I can try?

I bet you could resolve this by checking the config file for any reference to that mapped key.
      Here:
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg
      or perhaps here:
If you are using arcade, it should be in (mine is):
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/cfg/

Got this info from a post here: (post by Floob)

My cfg files are located in roms/mamelibretro/mame2003/cfg.

I cannot view any of the files contents, it loads up a page of gobbledygook, including the default.cfg file.

From what I gather, deleting the default.cfg file from this location should return the mame menu key back to tab although in my case it doesn't... very confused :/

I just uninstalled rt-mame2003 and then reinstalled from source as I thought this would set everything back to normal although tab is still not working.

How are you viewing your files and what exactly are you doing to delete default.cfg? Also, if you could fill out the information requested at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first it would help us help you better.

I can't explain this although turned the machine on this morning and tab now works!! Maybe physically powering the machine down overnight helped in some way, who knows!!

@baviaannl Maybe the youngster came back and re-mapped the buttons by mistake :).
