      @grand_national you need to show a screenshot.

      service menu is entered pressing F2: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/lr-mame2003/#service-menu

      mame menu is entered pressing TAB or R2: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/lr-mame2003/#mame-menu

      I guessed at the button config for the controller when EM first started and config'd what I thought to be the minimum.

      does not inspire confidence... what layout did you use?

      @baviaannl Maybe the youngster came back and re-mapped the buttons by mistake :).

      Thanks. Is this rom setup for free play? I don't see anything referencing "insert coin". And if you want to adjust flicker, scanlines, etc. for just this rom or just vector games, is there a way to do that? MameUI had a feature for slide controls and they would appear at the bottom of the screen and you could adjust phosphor life, bloom, etc.

      Unfortunately, we don’t have phosphor or bloom effects in AdvanceMAME. Also, none of the vector settings are accessible through the GUI menus. You have to edit the .rc config file. This post covers the details.

      Do you think if I copied the game and the .nv file over to another Raspberry Pi with a new installation of Retropie that potentially those "service mode" setting would carry over, correct?

      Yes.

      @AlexMurphy

      I'll be honest the Sega Master System version of Rampage is really good.

      It is indeed. I've also found that if you set

      sync_resample internal

      in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-advmame/advmame.rc, then the audio tends to behave itself in AdvanceMAME. As a result, 'Rampage' runs really well for me there.
