Has (lr-)freeintv been added to the Retropie main or optional packages menu? I've just updated the script (using a Pi2) and searched for it there but couldn't find it.

@mrskyle It hasn't been added, yet. You can keep an eye on this RetoPie-Setup github PR or subscribe for notifications if you have a github account: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/2293

@markwkidd Thanks. I don't have a github account, but I will be keeping tabs on it.

@mrskyle if you don't want to wait you can add it manually using the instructions on the first post in this thread. I am not an expert by any means and I found the instructions very easy to follow as they are step by step.

If you update RetroPie-Setup I believe you will now find FreeIntv in the "Experimental" section.

@markwkidd Thanks! I just installed it. However, I can't seem to find the "intellivision" sub-folder in the "roms" folder to do some proper testing (nor can I find the "BIOS/Machines/COL - ColecoVision/" path for that matter)...

On a side note, any idea why this particular emulator is currently labeled "experimental" rather than "optional"? From what I read elsewhere, I thought it was running quite smoothly.

I have to apologize that I'm more of a libretro/RetroArch person than a RetroPie person so I'm not sure what's going on with your folders. @BuZz or @herb_fargus
may be able to clarify in this thread whether that's the expected behavior.

If you have a github account, the best place to post about the folder issue is probably the PR where FreeIntv was added to RetroPie-Setup: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/2293

@markwkidd if the folder isn't showing up it didn't install properly as the intellivision rom folder will be automagically created upon install.or other case is a custom es_systems.cfg is overriding the default and they'll manually need to keep the files in parity. The module looks correct as far as I can tell.

Thanks guys! I found out what the problem was. I apologize for not giving enough info (and for posting the issue here) but I realised my mistake: I was attempting to create a directory structure on a USB drive and created a folder called "retropie" (forgot the "-mount" part). That was it. Re-formatted the drive, wrote the complete sentence and everything was there!

@recompile So found another bug with triple action game. When playing tanks, tanks are invisible and shooting instantly destroys your own tank.

Hi everyone! Got the lr-freeintv working and it's great! Thanks to all who contributed to this! Does this work with coleco vison games too? I'm current using the lr-bluemsx emulator but it would be great to have the virtual number pad functionality for those games as opposed to using keyboard. Is there a way to make that happen with this emulator or bluemsx?
                                  thanks!

lr-freeintv works well on my Raspberry Pi 3 running RetroPie 4.4. Thanks for putting it together! I have two questions: a) how do I reset the game? and b) how do I return to emulationstation? I'm SSHing into my pi and rebooting and that isn't exactly efficient!

I've installed lr-freeintv using retropie_setup.sh. I have a limited familiarity for the configuration files of retroarch, but I have Linux skills if I need to get in there modify files. I've also run jstest so I know what all my controller buttons are. Some guidance would help.

                                    Thanks!

@slimbrick lr-freeintv is a libretro emulator so pressing hotkey+start should exit the emulator.

@quicksilver Thanks, I actually tried that earlier. I have a Logitech F710 controller and I set up the Logitech button as the Hotkey (as discussed here https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Logitech-Controller) but Hotkey+start didn't get me out of the emulator. I must not have done it properly because it appears that should be the right strategy.

@slimbrick Ooops, I answered my own question. I thought all I needed to do was set input_enable_hotkey_btn in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/LogitechGamepadF710.cfg. However, I needed to add both input_enable_hotkey_btn and input_exit_emulator_btn to /opt/retropie/configs/intellivision/retroarch.cfg. Once I did that, all was well.

Anyhow, I fixed the problem that lead to invisible tanks at least. It's fixed, along with a bunch of other things, in the latest version on github. Binaries for Windows and RetroPie 4.4 on the rpi3 are on SourceForge.
