What is the MAME ROW?

MAME ROW stands for MAME Random Of the Week. We randomly select an arcade game from the 0.78 MAME Reference Set to play on the week. The idea is to play games we've never played before, interact with other forum members, post hi-scores, share game strategies, fun facts, and (the most important) HAVE FUN!

Notes:

1. We usually post hi-scores screenshots after playing with only one credit. If you used more than one credit, please mention it on your post.

2. There's no need to use RetroPie to join the MAME ROW! You can play it on any platform you want.

3. Feel free to post your hi-score (or any content about the game) anytime you want on the previous rounds topics (link below).

Every Monday we create a topic at the "General Discussion and Gaming > MAME Random Of the Week" forum section with the 3 random games to be voted. And on Wednesday we check the result.

These "rules" are constantly being improved!

Well... quite the interesting selection this week!) Tetris plus was quite the surprise for me, I’ve been pure gb Tetris fanboy for a loooong time, never liked any other version- but actually really enjoyed this, right down to the Japanese voice over. Different gameplay was pleasantly acceptable:)
NATO defense would be my second choice, purely because it was around ten years before the others, so although it was tough, really tough, it gained an edge for what it was.

Super Toffy confused me. To the point I’ll be having dreams (nightmares) about how weird it was later. I just couldn’t get my head around it. Need to do more research as I think it could have potential if I knew what the hell I was supposed to do!! time to throw more virtual coins at the slot

So- I guess partially because it’s so familiar, even though it’s so different, Tetris has to be my choice this week; I wanted to play more, plus it could be one of those few occasions I actually stand a chance of a decent score:); Quick go was:
Endless mode 60900 and Puzzle mode 282900 as a starter.

Ok, for the beginning, I have "49'000" on Endless mode, Normal. Easy to break.

@thelostsoul In MAME ROW it's a "pics or it didn't happen" situation. Either grab a screenshot or take a photo or your score "doesn't count" in this competition that literally means nothing.

Well, my best got a little better on puzzle mode;

But hasn't got any better on endless mode...yet. But hey- the weekend is still young:)

@fruitybit My congratz. I think, I will try to beat this today night. Didn't have much time this week. Are you concentrating more on Puzzle mode? Didn't know that the Puzzle mode is good for highscore playing.

@thelostsoul I know the time thing- only too well, but all Tetris is good Tetris;) it’s my go-to game
I only played the easy levels in puzzle mode, but they’re only easy up to a point:( It’s a fun variation of two player for one player so to speak.

Noticed there's no overlay available for this rom (not even as mame artwork).

So I made one ;-)
