    Hey Guys I was looking through the wiki and found this page https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Cheats/ which talks about being able to download cheat files through the retroarch menu.

    My issue is that when i open up the rgui menu, either in game or from emulationstation I cannot find the Online Updater section that is being talked about.

    Has anyone been able to do this or is there a better way to download a full cheat file set? Is the wiki out of date in this section?

      No, it's not out of date, the updater is available after you enable the 'Advanced Options' in the RGUI.

        Thank you so much, I have had the same problem and the wiki did not make it clear that that was needed.

          Yeah the Wiki seems to be missing some necessary steps. Here are the full steps:

          1. Main Menu --> Settings --> User Interface --> Show Advanced Settings --> Turn On
          2. Main Menu --> Settings --> User Interface --> Views --> Show Online Updater --> Turn On
          3. Main Menu --> Online Updater --> Update Cheats

          Seems like the first two steps are missing for some reason. Is there a way to have to wiki updated to show the complete steps? This will only help those after me.

            you can edit the version stored here, which will eventually migrate to the docs: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Cheats

            thanks!

              @geneworld

              I added a notation about enabling advanced settings, but I'm not sure the second step you mentioned is necessary. After enabling advanced settings, I was able to see, navigate to and select 'Update Cheats'

                @mediamogul Oh great thanks for updating that. Maybe it would be worth noting though. I'm not sure of the other versions of RetroPie but the one I'm running, 4.3.8 I needed to turn on the Online Updated Like mentioned above.
