ASUS Tinker Board

Has anyone attempted to test the ASUS Tinker Board with retro PI yet?

@mcirish3 Here's a link to a thread from about a year ago.

Thanks this was very helpful.

@mcirish3 No worries. It seems like a great board. Unfortunately it is lacking in both community and manufacturer support.
Plus it looks kinda cool too. -
I just tried with the RetroPie-Setup shell script.
It got most of the provides right and is working pretty well. There is an issue with the sound but so far most emulators and games are playing smoothly. I've been able to test up to a PS. Haven't tested a PSP yet.
So far this is a pretty good board especially for the price. I was mainly looking for a NAS type server to reduce power usage at home. I will post more as I (hopefully) progress.
I'm using Tinker OS 2.0.5.

@cimmerian So after a lot more deep digging than necessary found out the audio issue was because for some reason libretro / retroarch defaulted to introduce a 64 ms delay.
You can easily change that by going to the "RetroPie" menu and choosing "Retroarch". "A" goes forward and "B" goes backward if you have a gamepad configured.
Go to "Settings" > "Audio" > "Audio Latency (ms)" and change it to 0 ... unless for some odd reason you want a delay.
Back out all the way and go to "Configurations" and then select "Save Current Configuration". Now you should be good.
For some reason N64 isn't working but PSx is. I wasn't able to compile PPSSPP but will look into that soon. I saw a message regarding GLew or something. Will update as I go on.

Curious, did you (or anyone?) ever test PSP games on the tinkerboard?
I'm considering using an ATB instead of RPI3B+ for my next retropie project specifically for better PSP emulation, but can't find many success/fail stories that mention PSP specifically.

look around here i found this.
i want to get a ATB just to play around with but now its going to have to wait. at least i have a XU4 now to play with :) -
I am a newbie and don't know anything about programming. But I tried to install new Retropie 4.8 on a Armbian Bullseye and I think I could compile almost everything.
I made a Image from the tinker board retropie for anyone who wants to test it or wants to make it better.
I uploaded the image file to my nextcloud. If anyone interested, here is the link:https://waltikon.mooo.com/index.php/s/3Le33bX2YCZFKFC
I compiled everything, which was to be compiled there. It seems like everything works fine but I can't give any kind of support. If you want to test this image, be my guest. :-)
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
