    Hi!

I'm a huge fan of Tempest 2000 on the Atari Jaguar. Since the Jaguar emulation, is by far to slow, even on the RP3, I bought a cheap Tempest X3 for PS1. Creating the ISO was simple and it actually runs with the
lr-pcsx-rearmed quite well mostly at 50 Frames/sec in PAL mode. I use the latest retropi release.

The core issue is the game is quite unplayable with my Xbox360 wireless controller (with xpad driver) which works with other emulators. There are two issues:

Although the framerate shows 50Hz the game feels to be to fast. The 3D "web" you play on seem to rotate to fast when the level starts and it also feels the actual gameplay is too fast.

Also there are controller issues (or also speed issues): When the Game is loaded , pressing fire button to get to the main menu, is a bit of luck, I need to press it several times to actually get to the menu while it feels, you cycle through the highscore and credits. Actual gameplay the analog stick is fat to sensitive, the player sprite is moving way to fast around the web.

Did anyone experience the similar issues and knows a fix?

same issue here, I am guessing it's with PCSX? Using 4.3 sd img from here, everything else is as good as expected.

@nilsholgersson pcsx-rearmed is known to have a lot of compatibility issues, being fast enough on arm processor came at a cost... and don't expect fixes for this, notaz (the main developper) has been quite inactive for years.
Your best bet is to use either the original hardware or a more accurate emulator (i would recommend beetle-psx-libretro) on a hardware more powerfull than the pi (i would say something with a cpu as close as possible to 3Ghz)
