Seggesting a low input lag mode.

Retro arch just put a low input lag mod into there program. It soppositely reduces input lag from your pi and your controller which is my greatest concern.
I havn't tried retroarch yet with this new mode as I am on vacation and not at my pc. -
Might affect performance on the pi.

@deltax5 You can shave off one frame with fceumm(nes) in 1.7.2 and 1.7.3 fixed the performance issues on shaving one frame with genesis plus gx in og xbox so I'll have to try that on the pi. SNES, etc, is too slow with that setting on so don't bother. Keep in mind I'm using a pi3b+ overclocked at 1.5ghz to even achieve that in nes.
I don't notice the better input lag as it was already fine for me. You'll get better input lag by enabling game mode on your tv. Some tv's require extra settings to be changed. For my 4k samsung I have to change the input source to "game", then go to it's picture advanced settings to turn on game mode in there.

It's a really nice feature for sure, but as @Darksavior says, the best you'll come away with is a reduction of one frame without taxing the system. The real benefit under ideal conditions is that it would allow less input lag than what existed on original hardware and that's just not going to be possible here. Even after your television is removed from the equation, there's other areas to reduce input lag that aren't as taxing for the Pi. Simply using a wired controller will reduce lag with no cost to performance.

There is a actual setting in FBA that puts the emulator in accuracy mode. But requires my pi 3 to be overclocked quite a bit before it is playable. It stutters a bit but going to get a pi 3+ just for FBA arcade in that mode hope I get better results. I don't remember the setting off hand. Is there is such a setting for mame? using 2003 at the moment as that was reccemended to me when I started making my build. If only the pi could run higan

The intent of the MAME project is to be accurate by default as a means of hardware documentation. FBA and most other emulators use various shortcuts to increase speed at the cost of accuracy. Granted, MAME 2003 (v0.78) is going to be less accurate than more recent versions of itself, but I imagine it's still the more accurate option on most occasions, just by the nature of it's core design.

In that mode in metal slug for example there is less input lag then using mame 2003, It jumps faster then mame, im guessing it's doing other stuff also. I understand I have a crap tv at the moment that doesn't even have game mode but in that setting in fba it's alot better. Even when I get my new tv in the future ill prob use that setting, that tv will be better of course and I will still use that mode.

That says a lot right there. When emulated accurately, 'Metal Slug' will always have a certain amount of slow down like on the original hardware.
