Using a clean 0.78 set with mame2003 and there are a few of my favs that wont run. They just go back to ES.

So far: Galaga and Moon Patrol. Funny enough both games were stripped out using CMP and the mame2003-lr-no-clones-no-neogeo xml config.

Any ideas of where I can start troubleshooting?

@boxall you must have a bad rom then. Galaga works fine for me on Mame 2003. Did you download a full romset?

@quicksilver All good now for Galaga. Had a corrupt emulators.cfg file and couldn't change to mame2003.

          What about Moon Patrol?

          Parameters:
          Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2003/mame2003_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mpatrol.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

          Zaxxon has no sound.

          But getting there.

@boxall As @quicksilver mentioned, you have an incomplete ROMset for the game - hence the 'file missing' error. Are you using a split set ? Then you'd need the parent ROM to be present in the same folder.

@boxall Moon Patrol works fine using Mame2003. Zaxxon has sound...if you downloaded a romset..clrmamepro is your best bet to rebuild/filter the romset.

@boxall Glad you got it working man . Mame is very particular with the matching emulator / romset for each individual emulator.

@bytethis Sure is. Now I am backing up my Retropie as things are pretty good now.

@boxall Right on !Making a backup is always a necessity. I have 5 cards with diff purposes and self made images, would be at a loss if I ever " tweaked" , then messed up and lost what I worked so hard on.
