Bluetooth PS3 Controller Pairing via USB
-
Pi 3 B +
Power Supply: 2.5 A
RetroPie Version: retropie-4.4-rpi2_rpi3
Controller: Official PS3 ControllerOn my previous Pi that I built I was able to pair back and forth between my Pi and PS3 using the same controller by plugging it in via USB and unplugging after a few seconds. This would allow Bluetooth to work without having to go into anymore configuration options(after the initial set up). With this new build I have successfully connected my controller to the Pi via Bluetooth, but the major difference is that now after pairing with the PS3 I can no longer just plug my controller back into the Pi with a USB cable and get Bluetooth to work. I have to pair it by going into the configuration settings. I am wishing to get this new build to pair back and forth with my PS3 like my old Pi.
I did read the doc on the PS3 controller and searched the forums and had no luck finding my answer.(I don't think I missed it...)
I hope I made my issue clear enough to understand and I would really appreciate help. -
@odosayshi
Having the same issue, with jessie version of retropie I connect the controllers at boot (background mode), now with retropie 4.4 stretch, I can only pair them from the menu. -
@chicuelo I still haven't been able to figure out what is going on. I found a couple similar posts on here with my issue but no one was able to reply with a solution on those either. If I ever figure out a fix I will let you know.
