Re: Found 1 cause of ES Scraper "Error saving resized image" error.

    Hello:

Since a few days I'm getting the “Error saving resized image. Out of memory? Disk full?” message when trying to scrap a game. I already verified there is enough disk space and that the permissions for downloaded_images folders are right.

One thing i noticed is that the scrapper is actually donwloading a file, but it is an html file saying the image has moved.

From the log (after exiting emulstation) i get:

Lvl0: Error - file type unknown!
Lvl0: could not initialize texture from memory, invalid data! (File path: , data ptr: 12811888, reported size: 324)
    Lvl0: could not resize image!

    Then I go to
    ~/.emulationstation/downloaded_images/atari2600

and I found there is a jpg file for the game i was tryng to scrap, in this case “River Raid (16k version)-image.jpg” which is 317 bytes in size. When checking its content with CAT, an html code shows:

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN>
    <html><head>
    <title>302 Found</title>
    </head><body>
    <h1>Found</h1>
    <p>The document has moved <a href=“http://legacy.thegamesdb.net/banners/boxart/original/front/1365-1.jpg”>here</a>.</p>
    <hr>
    <address>Apache Server at thegamesdb.net port 80</address>
    <\body><html>

So, might it be possible that there is a recent change on thegamesdb that needs to be updated? I checked that the link provided within this html file is valid and it matches with the game art.

I’m using retropie 4.4.1 on a pi 3 b+ , updated today (may 22nd 2018) via retropie setup script, on a sandisk 16 GB card, 12 GB free

    Thanks!

Hi, I just found another recent theread about the same issue.

      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/17904/emulationstation-scraper-saving-html-file-as-image

I open this new one because I was mislead by the terms i used to search, I believe the case can continue on the original theread.

      Thanks anyway.
