How do you add themes on retropie 4.4

I don't have a large start menu, unlike 4.3 where i could just change the themes, now i only have the options to restart the system and audio settings. With the new update i have no idea what to do.

hmm for me 4.4 is the same as 4.3. What version of ES does your main menu report?

You don't have the main menu with scraper, ui settings etc?

I don't know if this is the case, but could it be that you are in Kiosk mode?
Try checking es_settings.cfg to see if the UIMode is set to full.

you are definitely in kiosk mode.
try to exit using the konami code with your controller
(up up down down left right left right b a)

nb. last two inputs (b a) could be reversed if you switched a & b functions in retropie setup menu (under emulationstation options)
