@bobchiba If you updated lr-pcsx-rearmed, you'll still get the same emulator and not the lr- core version. If you're still able to enter the menu with Select + X, then you have the lr- version. The non-lr emulator version is not installed by default and you have to manually install it in order to be usable.
How long was since you last updated anything ? What's your RetroPie/RetroArch version ?

SO I have to use the escape key to access the emulator menu now, none of my controller binds and hotkeys worked after the update (I did re bind my ps1 pad though without issues). Yeah the last version i had used options about cores etc, and could use button combos to bring up menus. Not now though. How would i go about re-installing the standard emulator/config setup as a fresh current retropie install would give me?

Retropie version is whatever the latest release is (4.4 i think)

@bobchiba I would check in the Run Command what your default EMU is for Playstation. It may just be set to pcsx-rearmed and not the lr-pcsx-rearmed. Make sure Run Command is enabled from the RetroPie settings page then press buttons as you're launching a PlayStation game. Verify there first.

ok, so yeah it is PSX Rearmed displaying, not 'lr....'

How do I go about getting the lr back again?

Hey thanks guys, i realised I just wasn't looking in the right package menu to get the LR version. Just updated and now have a new snazzy PS4 kinda interface for the Emu settings in the latest version. Great stuff.

On a side note, I do feel like my previous Pi3 project from last year was a bit quicker/less laggy playing PS1 games. Has anyone else found this on the new B+ models? Maybe its just in my head!

              Cheers

if you have the ps4 ("xmb") interface, it means you've deleted your default retropie psx config file. instead, retroarch has generated its own defaults. this is bad, because retroarch defaults aren't right for retropie. this might explain your performance issues.

Really? To be fair everything seems fine now and I do prefer this interface. The performance issues I mentioned were the same when i the installed a few weeks ago and everything was default to the 4.4 image. Again these performance issues may be in my head, or perhaps something to do with the new B+ support.

In any case, how do I rectify the config file issue if I decide this needs to be changed?

                  Cheers

Reinstall RetroArch from the RetroPie-Setup script and the default config file should be re-generated.
