Ds4 and keyboard problem
-
Hello, raspberry pi 3 b and 4.4 retropie here.
My problem seems to be a easy one, but no tutorial or Google helped me solve it... Maybe I was asking the wrong questions.
ds4 is my player one, but my keyboard can make the selections for player 1 and 2. Beside that, there's a 5-10 second lag from pressing buttons when in multiplayer (just X, B and A. Directional and Y is fine). The game was International Superstar Soccer Deluxe and the emulador was Snes9x2010.
Tried Mitu's joystick configuration, game mode on TV, CPU in performance mode. Any ideas?
My ideas on the problem:
My player 1 configuration in retroarch have the ds4 buttons and the keyboard at same time, maybe this? -
@capninja If you assigned both the keyboard and gamepad as player1, that would interfere with the intended behavior. Can you try with and change the assignments in the RetroArch RGUI and assign there the DS4 to player1 and the keyboard to player2 and see if it works ?
Btw, the joystick selection tool has been developed by meleu, not by me :). -
@mitu Well, I don't know how to undo the assignment. When I go to retroarch RGUI in game and try to input the user key binds, the default already is the joystick + keyboard.
what I tried now and worked was define all keyboard assignments in player 1 to one key (y) and configure the player 2 normally. Worked, but it doesn't sound right to me.
Sorry for my confusion with names, hahaha.
thanks for your help -
@capninja
The easiest way to delete your assignments is to get the retropie toolkit from easy hax. You can get it herehttps://github.com/Shakz76/Eazy-Hax-RetroPie-Toolkit
You can also follow his tutorials on YouTube.
Hope this helps.

Does RetroPie do these keyboard assignments automatically? I also have them and I don't know how to remove them.

@rsn8887 RetroPie doesn't automatically maps the keyboard as a controller - it only saves the gamepad configuration from the configuration you made in Emulationstation. Unless you explicitely map the keyboard in ES, it shouldn't generate any configuration for it.
You can find the saved configurations - one per gamepad configured - in the/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads
folder.Must be a new RA thing, does it do the same without the keyboard plugged in ?
