@herb_fargus This is why I share this kind of horror story. When I was new to this stuff it always seemed like the more experienced people out there had everything figured out. It may be nice for someone coming into this hobby new to see that even those of us who have been around a while can make some really stupid mistakes. I hope my failures are encouraging for others in some odd way.

I am starting to think maybe I lost all of my progress in Riven. What a bummer.
<EDIT> looks like I have some of my saved scummvm games as of March of 2018. Whew.

My dog ate my last Pi Micro SD card. Was annoying because I had to buy a new one and I lost the majority of my roms.

@lilbud I can't imagine going through the pain of buying a new dog because of that.

@pjft Oh no, my dog is fine. The SD Card was borked. But then again, the amount of stuff my dog has eaten that should have killed her but hasn't is astounding. She's eaten wood, rubber, metal, few pairs of Clogs, etc.

@lilbud on the up-side, she now plays a serviceable game of super mario bros 3 :)

@lilbud I'm sorry if it wasn't clear :) I was just being a smart-ass and trying to make a play for words. I understood what you were going for perfectly. :)

Last week I took my Retropie setup + 2 controllers to a friends house to play some Mario kart 64 battles. Emulation station booted fine, resolution ok. I started Mario kart 64 and got a black screen. I spent the next 15 minutes trying different resolutions, other games to eliminate some possible causes, other settings. Turned out Mario kart 64 just takes a little while (black screen) before it starts. It does this at my home too, but I never noticed it..and trying my setup at a friends house on a different tv, I immediately thought I'd ran into a problem. :')

I was about to do this myself at one point. Luckily I remembered why it was stuck, just in time. Good riddance, or I'd have to sweep up the data from the floor. 64 GB is a lot of data. :D

A great reminder to back up my whole SD again. I've been putting it off...

@dankcushions She can barely play a decent game of eat your damn food and come inside without needing to be bribed with pizza crust.

@caver01 Don't know ... laugh or cry? That's really nasty on the NESPi case. I wanted my Rasperry setted in a new case, too. And then I realized the Pie was stuck caused by the SD.
