Cool to see OutRun winning this week - but does these racing games even play without a steering wheel?

Tried Pole Position a while ago, and couldn't get anything but the menus to work.

@andershp They do play, but if you have a Dual Shock or XBox controller, you can use the joystick as well for analog.

@gtbfilms said in MAME ROW #93 - Out Run:

I also remember a very similar game to Outrun, where if you revv'd your engine too much at the starting grid girl, your 'girlfriend' got out the car in disgust and you had to race in the car by yourself. I mentioned this at my local Retro Club but no-one else could remember what game that was, or even remembered seeing it.

@pjft Guess your +750k is the one to beat ;)
I only manage 300-500K range ones.

Cool to see a true classic on this weeks MAME ROW, though these old racers arent really my thing.

@andershp I agree with you although you might change your mind if you tried the real arcade machine.
I know you're Danish so if you live near Copenhagen you can try it out at Bip Bip Bar :)

@brigane I'm pretty sure you're right. What I meant was more in reference to emulation.

I never was at BipBipBar, but will definitely go some day!
