Streets of rage remake install help
-
Yep I've just done a quick reinstall of retropie and installed sorr. I ran the sudo command to give me permissions but when I try and ftp the files across it now says permission denied?
-
@addyb What do you get when you try
ls -lah /opt/retropie/ports
-
Just had to come away for a while as I'm sorting kids out. I'll check in a bit. Strange how I could initially ftp files across albeit to the wrong place lol and now I can't.

This is what I get from that mate.
-
Ok, that looks right - can you FTP files across to it now?
-
No I log into cyber ducky with pi and raspberry, port 22 and I can browse fine but when I try and upload any of the files/folders I need I get a permission denied error. I've no idea why?
-
@addyb Have you got a screenshot of the error when trying to write in there?
-
I will have when I dive on in the next half hour. Having a Google and a few other people have had the same issue with cyberducky. I wonder if it's worth trying a different ftp client.

Error screenie
-
Thats the same screenshot as above?

-
Just installed filezilla and that appears to be uploading sor.dat now :)
-
Ok all in. I launch the game and it prompts me to choose a default emulator with 1: sorr being the only option and it's stuck on that screen. Am I missing the emulator.cfg?
-
Ignore the last one. All my roms are prompting for an emulator now. I need to wipe and reinstall the image. What's the easiest way to do this as Windows currently just sees the boot partition.
-
The error showing in cyberduck said it was trying to write in the ports directory, not the sorr directory.
But if youve got it working with Filezilla stick with that.If you want to start from scratch, just follow the guide here:
https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/First-Installation -
Reinstalling now. Then I'll do the git clone etc and ftp and I THEN should be ok lol
-
YAY it's now working :)
Pad appears to work fine but is there anyway of being able to pause the game via the controller and how can I quit out to retropie menu again?
-
@addyb Start button pauses. The only way to exit is by pressing the Esc key on a connected keyboard.
-
I had to remap pause to start button as it wouldn't work for me. Thanks for the heads up on the esc:)

I would like to thank Floob and anyone else that's assisted me in this. I apologise. Acted like the noob I am. Still at least it's been a good learning experience and I'm now a bit more clued up on commands etc.
