Hi. I've built a home made sitdown cocktail/horizontal cabinet for my Rpi3B that includes 2 home made spinners using optical mice. These work okay with AdvMame and games such as Tempest and Arkanoid (after a bit of fiddling with settings), but there is backspin and they aren't really that fantastic.

I've already got a USB trackball on the horizontal edge, so am looking to upgrade the cocktail sides with 2 TurboTwist 2 spinners.

I've contacted the sellers, GroovyGame Gear, and they say they haven't tested the TT2 with Rpi3B as yet. I'm just wondering whether anyone has tested a TT2 with Rpi3B and, if so, what was it like?

Also, has anyone got 2 TT2 spinners operating and, if so, did you use the master/slave configuration or 2 master configurations?

      Thanks.

I have a RPi3B with a pair of TT2 spinners in master/slave config. Works perfectly, but I am using AdvMAME and I modified the config using the guides here.

It's just a guess, but I think master/slave may allow you to use a single USB controller board for both spinners, with one showing up as an X axis and the other as Y. If you do both as master, that might require a separate board for each?

@bollwerk Thanks, Bollwerk. That is terrific information. I'm thinking master/slave is the way to go. I was concerned there might have been a need for specialised drivers, but it sounds as though the spinners are effectively recognised as mice.
