No sound scrolling thru games and in game, otherwise ok
-
I know that there is so many "no sound" threads, but haven't found a case like mine.
Scenario: I built 6 bartops for my friends and used spare monitors I have laying around. Four monitors have vga input, Two have dvi.
All systems have the same hardware so I use the same image for all. All working perfectly, but I noticed that after a while, playing some random games, the 4 vga systems lost sound in-game and when scrolling games in ES.
Other sounds are working, like video preview, video screensavers and the booting video splashscreen. This issue persists even turning off and on the entire system.I'm using hdmi to vga adapters to convert video output; they also have a 3,5 jack audio output and, trying to plug the speakers here, I finally hear audio in the entire system! However, in-game audio is very low quality (maybe because of those cheap adapters) so I want to force audio through the rpi 3,5 jack.
I tried to add hdmi_drive=1 to config.txt to force DVI mode (no audio) thinking that in this way the system should send audio through the rpi 3,5mm jack, but nothing has changed.
And now, my request: how should I force this? Or is there something else I need to fix? The strange thing is that these 4 systems were working without issues while testing, but trying many games have broken something.
Thanks!

Try changing the output device in raspi-config
-
@papinist in the Retropie menu there is an audio setting. Go in there and change audio from auto to the 3.5mm jack.
-
@papinist also in the emulationstation start button menu there is a volume control. Turn it up from 77% to 100%.

It was easier than I expected! Forced from Audio menu in Retropie. Thanks guys!
