            Never say that!!! LOL.
I'm having good times with retroachievements on NES games.
Add me there! And don't forget to enable hardcore mode!

I need to get back into it, as there are a few achievements I was aiming for, but have slacked off on while playing outside systems like Daphne and ColecoVision. I started off my account not knowing what hardcore mode was, if I switch over now, will all of my achievements so far be erased?

No, they aren't be erased. But with RetroArch you have to erase it manually on the site and achieve them again in hardcore mode to get them registered.
With the official emulators (Windows only), there is no need to erase. You just need to turn on hardcore mode and achieve again.

@meleu @dankcushions it looks like both sides are cut off on all games. in super mario bros on nestopia there are perfect blocks accross the bottom on the title screen. On fceumm they are chopped on both side... :(

I don't have a ton of achievements registered, so I might just reset everything. One thing that worries me though is that my most wanted achievements involve beating some very difficult games on one life and while I don't use any save states on the final play-through, I do use them before hand as a teaching tool to learn some of the more complex stage patterns and timing, similar to how speed runners learn parts of a game.

Would you happen to know if toggling the hardcore setting will create any sort of conflict in how the achievements are registered on the site? Wouldn't it simply be a matter of me micromanaging my account and deleting anything that wasn't achieved in hardcore mode? I usually test these kinds of things out to see for myself, but I thought I might inquire before i delete everything.

Yeah man. I do it as well. But when I want a training session like this, I turn off the retroachievements, not just the hardcore.

And don't worry. Nothing will be automatically erased.
