ok i've reverted to early june.. last time the notes column was around :/

i think the permissions are good now. i've set both readme and main sheet to be protected, and the 3 columns + the notes column to be editable by all. @caver01 is this what you mean?

      undefined

@dankcushions Yes. That should keep rows 1 and 2 protected on C,D,E,H so that nobody can delete the columns.

@dankcushions I've just given you ownership to the whole folder of all the compatibility lists. Thanks for your work on this. (not sure if it will break the links on the wiki, might be worth checking out just to make sure.)

@herb_fargus The links didn't break. They shouldn't, as each Google Sheet has a unique KEY that identifies the document and is part of the URL.

thanks! but thanks so much to you for doing them in the first place - that's the bulk of the work! if Life ever settles down you can take them back :)

does anyone know how to turn off anonymous editing? google isn't being helpful... i think maybe you can't unless you set specific google accounts to have access?

ok, one sheet which I can't revert for whatever reason - the general arcade spreadsheet:
                  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1antILt7D12EWOFzyJwTfB86NceghMJKXG7CdYumuHec/edit#gid=0
                  last known good version:
                  8th april 04:37
(after which some user deleted the 3 testing columns...)

sorry @herb_fargus , i'm at a bit of a loss here. i've got ownership of the drive, but i can't seem to change ownership of the files within. i don't understand how the two things are separate! if anyone as any experience with google drive, let me know :)

@dankcushions Maybe this will help - it mentions how to transfer ownership of all documents
                      https://support.google.com/a/answer/1247799?hl=en

Or maybe just save the docs locally, then upload in your own drive area. Unless there is a Google account associated with the RetroPie project.

Please read the Docs before asking a new question.

@Floob unfortunately that involves the "google admin console" which needs a paid "google for work" account, which i didn't even know existed before today! :(

hmm, this one may be more appropriate:
                          https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2494893?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

But I guess still easier to download, then upload to your own google docs. Or register an account with a retropie.org.uk email if Buzz or Herb set one up.

Please read the Docs before asking a new question.

Seems like the Arcade romset is kinda bogus anyway, as the arcade aggregates multiple emus (each requiring their own compatibility lists). How is .171 the romset for a rom that I choose to launch with mame4all?

@dankcushions oh. My bad. I think have to transfer ownership to each file individually, not just the folder. I'll do that

well, it's the full list of potential games you could run on the pi, which has to be the latest set (as all older sets are a subset of that, at least in the file names). i've reverted it to it's previous version which maybe makes more sense, but i think maybe it needs a readme.

thanks @herb_fargus for sorting the permissions! sorry this has been a pain.. i blame google :)

no idea what has happened to the dreamcast compatibility list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AD91IcudqHP7dDmEXLO25Pzb85uUgAy4chU2QxlZBQk/edit#gid=1855424096

someone obviously has put in a lot of effort trying to put the whole of wikipedia in there :) but several sheets are a mess now. tempted to revert it back to the simple single-sheet approach from the beginning to avoid the headache, but that would remove a lot of test data (but i think it's all corrupted now anyway)

@dankcushions yeah I don't know what some people have done... give someone an opportunity to break it and they will (e.g. the n64 compatibility sheets - I don't use n64 on the pi so I let it be... but they are a mess too)

@dankcushions Do we think the Dreamcast Raw Data tab has corrupted test details? If we revert to a single sheet with the Pi model columns I could quickly do a vlookup to bring in the existing values and notes.
