      @meleu interesting - what I don't understand - why it works with win7.
      Could you give me your usb Details of this Adapter?
      lsusb -vv

      Then I can check if I can buy it somewhere else - or ask my Chinese friends :)

          I'm from Brazil, and I bought it here. It seems that you are from Germany (you posted an amazon.de link), maybe this?:

          They are the same! BUT when I run jstest command it gives me this:

          Driver version is 2.1.0.
          Joystick (Twin USB Joystick) has 6 axes (X, Y, Z, Rz, Hat0X, Hat0Y)
          and 12 buttons (Trigger, ThumbBtn, ThumbBtn2, TopBtn, TopBtn2, PinkieBtn, BaseBtn, BaseBtn2, BaseBtn3, BaseBtn4, BaseBtn5, BaseBtn6).
          Testing ... (interrupt to exit)
          Axes:  0:     0  1:     0  2:     0  3:     0  4:     0  5:     0 Buttons:  0:off  1:off  2:off  3:off  4:off  5:off  6:off  7:off  8:off  9:off 10:off 11:off
          .

          .
          

          Look, only 6 axes and a western name (Twin USB Joystick).

          That guy on ubuntuforums had:

          Driver version is 2.1.0.
          Joystick (匀湯y㙔 倀䅌卙䅔䥔乏刨㌩䌠湯牴汯敬齲) has 27 axes (X, Y, Z, Rz, (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null), (null))
          and 19 buttons (Trigger, ThumbBtn, ThumbBtn2, TopBtn, TopBtn2, PinkieBtn, BaseBtn, BaseBtn2, BaseBtn3, BaseBtn4, BaseBtn5, BaseBtn6, BtnDead, BtnA, BtnB, BtnC, (null), (null), (null)).
          Testing ... (interrupt to exit)

            @badmage @meleu mine actually has hde logo on it. I bought it off of ebay. Mine also show up as twinshock. Do not buy single controller version. They still are a two player circuit board and the plug you have available is hooked up to player 2.

              Brazil cool :) - yes I'm from Germany ... so could you please give me your "lsmod" output?
              I think there is just one module which isn't loaded :) :(

              Price difference is huge ;) lol :(

              And just forget the posting from ubuntu - it was just a sign with similar effect/result ....

                  I use this adapter on my raspi1 since 2013. I don't remember the RetroPie version. (Emulationstation was really ugly those days! LOL)

                  Now I use it in a raspi2 as well.

                    @meleu I'm trying to use it on Raspi3 and retropie Version 3.8.1 - meanwhile 4.0

                    Why nobody is giving me the lsmod Output?
                    Just on the console "lsmod" and the Output here :) - please - just want to check if all required modules are loaded ...

                      @badmage OK. OK... There is no need for ressentment because of that 7x1.

                        unbelivable strange - with the blue Adapter - it's received by today - the Controllers working quite well :) :(
                        Same setup and configuration .... I don't know what is wrong with the other adapter because with win7 it's working ...

                        Anyway - thanks to you all for all the efforts!
