I have am trying to setup my USB joystick (logitech attack 3 aka ATK3). It is designed for flight simulation games and so has an analog joystick. It also has 11 buttons and a throttle control.

I am not worried about the throttle control, but I would like to set the rest of the joystick up properly.

When I plug it into my Pi, it is detected as a Logitech Attack 3.

However, the first configuration option is for the d-pad, which I want to skip so I can configure as analog sticks.

I've read that if you PRESSS AND HOLD any button on the device, it will skip the current configuration option and move to the next (https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2108/can-t-skip-joystick-configuration/5) but this does not seem to be working.

Has anyone successfully configured this joystick for retropie or have any guidance on how I can proceed?

      TIA

The D-Pad is necessary to be configured to navigate in Emulationstation, you can't skip it entirely. Configure the joystick as D-pad, or use any other of the 11 buttons, and then you'll be able to configure your gamepad in detail in RetroArch or any other emulator you might use.
