DoReMi Fantasy: Milon's DokiDoki Adventure is a platformer released by Hudson Soft (RIP) in 1996 for the Super Famicom in Japan, and released in the U.S and Europe in, checks notes, 2008 for the Wii Virtual Console. (Though you can no longer get the Wii VC version because the shop was shut down earlier this year.)
In this game, you play as Milon, as he saves his fairy friend named Alis, from an evil wizard named Amon. This ray of sunshine also stole the music from the world. So Milon must go on this big epic quest to save the instruments from Amon's goons and restore the music to the land. Oh, and save his fairy friend.
This is game is pretty generic platformer affair, get to end of level, collect things, kill enemies, etc. Though Milon does have some new abilities. He can blow a bubble and walk into it to send an enemy away into the shadow realm. You can also charge up your attack and fire several projectiles.
In each of the seven worlds you must collect five stars hidden in levels around the world. Collect five of them, and you unlock the boss and also to fix the broken instrument.
This game was released on the Wii Virtual Console in 2008, albeit the game is untranslated. So you will have no idea on the story or what items do. But this version is gone considering the Wii Shop Channel stopped allowing people to add wii points in March of 2018. So you can no longer buy the game.
Let's get going!

How in the hell do I play the game?
This is a Super Nintendo game, so emulating it is pretty simple. You should, however, apply the translation patch linked above. This will provide the best experience
Game of the Month Challenge
No challenge this month other than to beat the game.
Have fun, and don't take any crap from anybody.

I see the translation comes with two files a v1.1 and v1.2 with a 'new ending.' I assume we're better off using the v1.1? ReadMe says only change in v1.2 was the new ending.
-
@hooperre I don't think it matters too much. If you care for a new ending, use 1.2. If you don't care either way, use 1.1.
-
@lilbud Just wasn't sure if there was something woefully offensive about the original ending that it felt necessary to change. Suppose I'll go with the original. Thanks.
-
@hooperre The original game's ending wasn't really that good and it wasn't much of an ending. Just a screen that says "fin". The new ending makes an actual ending that closes the story.
-
Is this a sequel to Milon's Secret Castle? Loved that game!
-
@VictimRLSH Yes sir it is.

The game of the month post is up for January!
