Help needed. New build nothing working.

Pi Model or other hardware: 3 B+
Power Supply used: Official 2.5A
RetroPie Version Used 4.4
Built From: Sdcard Retropie and various premade images
USB Devices connected: Wireless keyboard
Controller used:Usb Gamepad
Error messages received:Illegal instruction, black screensHey, this is my first build but I'm having no luck at all. I have tried three different sd cards, three different images and retropie 4.4 but can get nowhere.
I have tried different combinations of the above and etcher, win32 disk imager/sd card formater and with every single one I end up with a splash screen and then either getting to the retropie prompt with an illegal instruction error or just a black screen. All the sd cards are class 10 a samsung evo plus, a sandisk and an integral. The images support the 3B+. I'm all out of ideas on whats going wrong and any help would be appreciated, thanks.

@WhatsANoob We don't support 3rd party images - use the image from retropie.org.uk/download and follow the Docs.
-
@mitu I have tried that as well as the third party images. Downloaded the retropie image for the 3b+ and received the illegal instruction error on two different sd cards.
-
@WhatsANoob Can you try downloading the normal Raspbian image - https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/ - and see if it works ?
-
@mitu my guess is he thinks he has a 3B+ but doesn't...
-
How many raspberries at top left on boot?
-
@herb_fargus That thought didn't occur to me - maybe the model is actually a B+.
-
@mitu Thanks, will try that now.
-
@herb_fargus I believe its a 3B+, I'm open to correction though Pic1 Pic 2 Pic3
Edit: after doing some googling it looks like I ordered the wrong one and its just a B+, I imagine thats why nothing works. Sorry for wasting your time and thanks for the help!
-
@WhatsANoob Nope, this is the original Pi B+
Your edit came through just as I responded. Looks like you figured it out. Hopefully you can return it?

@quicksilver I just realized my mistake thanks! Only wish I noticed hours ago!
