hey I installed retropie from the terminal over Rasputin on my pi 3 b+. it boots up and shows the retropie logo i get to the select OS screen click on Rasputin (desktop version) it boots it up and then after a couple seconds it brings me back to the start up terminal. do I need to wipe my SD card and install Rasputin standalone and then install retropie or is there a way to troubleshoot it? thank you for any help.

      It's Raspbian - not Rasputin :).
If your intention is to run just RetroPie, just install the RetroPie image from retropie.org.uk/download and you're all set.
If you want to keep the desktop installation, then use the RetrePie-Setup and choose to auto-start Emulationstation at boot option (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#where-did-the-desktop-go).

i have the Emulationstation set to start at boot and I also installed PIXEL. However I run into the same issue, I boot select Raspbain it shows the RetroPie logo and then it sends me back to the command line I can use startx to launch into Raspbain but thats about it.

@sirliam99 What is the message that you see at the command line, right after boot ?

@sirliam99 You don't see a login prompt after the boot is finished ?

@mitu it should be called Rasputin.
