Is possible to install retropie like an OS on my laptop?
-
Hi there, I know retropie is not just a program, but is a real operative system, and like it happen on the raspberry, I would like to install retropiie like an operative system, without passing through Linux.
How can I do it?
-
@Tackskull retropie is not an operating system, its just a bunch of Debian based packages mashed together, actually it's not even that, it's an install script to mash a bunch of Debian packages together, so short of going the lakka route and doing a buildroot thing you're pretty constrained to build on top of a Debian based OS

U can install a Linux Lubuntu (Light Ubuntu) and after update, you have to install Retropie.
On Retropie documentation have instructions how to do that. Here, i make the job for you https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Debian/

Actually I am using Linux Mint to run retropie. So you think using Lubuntu would be better? My pc is not that bad
-
@Tackskull I'm running Linux mint and it works fine
-
@Tackskull nope, mint is OK, but for me, very most things on mint i dont use, i need a basic graphical linux.
My PC for retropie is a Dell 3020m Intel Core i5-4590T 2.0GHz, with 16gb of RAM and a 1Tb hdd.
